I met Fausto Colaiuda 7 years ago in a collective exhibition in Rome. I remember that I was immediately shocked by his sculptures although them were  in a little number. I asked to the manager of the exhibition how to met Fausto. He was there, watching over his works. We walked together, talking about the art’s market and the difficoulties of an artist to be known by a large public. Then we came back to his exhibition and our talking was now about his creations.

 

We still met in the next years and when I called him to participate at Itinerarte his enthusiasm was full. Immediately we met in Rome and I had the opportunity to value the evolution of his creative power, watching to his last sculptures of high quality like the ones I saw in our first meeting. Our sculptor’s language is absolutely essential, Colaiuda speaks by imagines but his will is not to represent something in a realistic way; he alters reality to represent the synthesis of what he sees in reality: he chooses a teme and represent it by a few, essential, rich of meaning gesture. In the general mess of art today he brings himself  to our attention, attracts our interest without racket, speaking gently and clearly as his ideas. In Frustrazione we can see ...
